Ms. Carpenter is an attorney in the Santa Fe office where she is a member of the Business Department with a primary focus in public finance and the creation of public infrastructure districts (PIDs). Ms. Carpenter is licensed to practice in California and New Mexico. Ms. Carpenter provides strategic counsel and representation to her clients. Ms. Carpenter’s early legal career in Silicon Valley and San Diego included positions at prominent national law firms where her intellectual property transactional practice focused on advising emerging market and startup clients in all aspects of acquiring, developing, commercializing and licensing new technologies and products. Ms. Carpenter then specialized in structuring strategic alliances, collaborations, joint ventures, licenses, and research development, manufacturing and distribution relationships across the life sciences, information technology and wireless areas to further her clients’ business objectives.
In addition to negotiating business transactions on behalf of her clients, Ms. Carpenter’s recent expertise includes oral and written advocacy in business litigation, criminal defense, quasi-criminal actions, complex immigration cases, construction defect litigation, and family law matters.
