Kara Murphy is an attorney in Rodey’s Albuquerque office with the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on complex and commercial litigation as well as products liability. Ms. Murphy is a graduate of Northwestern University and Northwestern School of Law. Before law school, Ms. Murphy worked at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C. After graduating from law school, Ms. Murphy was a litigator at a law firm in Chicago for four years. There her practice focused on commercial litigation, internal investigations, and advising clients on compliance matters. Starting in 2016, Ms. Murphy served as a law clerk to a federal judge in the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois for seven years. In that role, she managed a large case docket, helped to prepare the Judge for bench trials, jury trials, and a variety of proceedings, and drafted hundreds of judicial opinions.
These experiences in both private practice and in the federal court inform Ms. Murphy’s practice at Rodey. With this experience and perspective, Ms. Murphy strives to help clients find workable solutions and to achieve favorable outcomes.
