The Rodey Law Firm has developed a media law and civil rights practice to serve its clients in the print and electronic media, as well as to meet the public’s need for representation in other constitutional litigation.
We represent the media in matters ranging from closure of courtrooms, photography within the courthouse, subpoenas to reporters, and prior restraints, to defense of libel, invasion of privacy, and false light suits. We also prosecute lawsuits under the Inspection of Public Records Act and the Open Meetings Act. Our expertise in constitutional law encompasses the full gamut of potential litigation, including actions challenging commercial speech restrictions, suits on behalf of foster children victimized while in state custody, cases to protect religious liberties, and challenges to state regulatory measures in violation of the dormant commerce clause.
